Leah Spigelman is a comedian based out of Brooklyn, NY. Her comedy is dark and silly, participatory and musical.
Leah is the co-creator and host the Forbes Top 30 Comedians Over 30 To Watch show at The Grand in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She hosts a bi-monthly open mic at the Pine Box Rock Shop in Bushwick, every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, where she encourages performers to share whatever is in their hearts. She also co-hosted the monthly character showcase, Super Buffet, at the PIT Loft. |
Leah is half of the comedy duo, 2 Arts, along with Jesse Vandenbergh, whose videos have been featured on WhoHaha and FunnyOrDie. Her home design videos have also placed in Channel 101 in New York, and The Huffington Post thinks her tweets are pretty funny.
She debuted a new solo show, You Are Home, at The PIT's Solocom Festival in November 2016, and Leah Spigelman, Standing Up, at the same festival the year prior. Her solo sketch comedy show, Leah Has It All(most), was performed at the UCB Theatre in NY in summer 2015.
Her half-hour sitcom pilot script, The Poughkeepsie Beacon, co-written with Elizabeth Starkey, was awarded quarter-finalist in the 2015 Final Draft Big Break Contest.
Leah has performed all over New York, as well as in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Richmond, Bethlehem, at the 2017 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival in Chapel Hill, and the 2017 New South Comedy Festival in Greenville, South Carolina.
Her sketch writing and improv training is from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, the Magnet Theater, and Second City. And she has a degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University if you'd ever like to discuss peacebuilding or post-conflict reconstruction.
